Crisis Communication

Crisis Communication recognizes situations where public information officers must address a mass audience in a timely and effective manner. While addressing stakeholder requirements with an organizational directive and preferred results.

To gain skills in this field,  I worked with a local school to design their communication and media relations strategy in the wake of an emergency.  The objective was to produce an action plan for Westside School’s K-8th grade program. This crisis communication plan addressed potential threats and formulated plans for speaking with key stakeholders; children, parents, faculty, staff, emergency services and joint information communities. It also drafts and prepares the school spokesperson for answering media questions. While delivering concise and accurate information addressing internal and external crisis messaging and management.
